About Me
Hi! I’m Kevin, an average guy who likes to eat (at home and around Tucson) and drink (mostly wine and beer, oh, and occasionally water).
I started this blog to share some of my experiences with restaurants around town, good food in Southern Arizona, recipes, and general random thoughts (although most of those will be food-related, even if it’s a bit of a stretch).
So thanks for stopping by! Please feel free to leave me a comment or a question. Oh, if you’re interested, you can follow me on Twitter, where, not surprisingly, I’m @TucsonFoodDude. Wanna email me? Another surprise: TucsonFoodDude at gmail.com.
Here’s what I put in my very first blog post about what I’m doing and why I’m doing it (well, sorta):
I’m finally doing something I’ve wanted to do for a while. I’m gonna blog. About food.
I like food, but I’m not a professional food guy by any stretch. I do know what I like, and I like telling people about what I like (and sometimes what I don’t). I’m out and about in Tucson, so I’ll be writing about some of my recent restaurant experiences, taking input on places I should try, talking about some of my favorite recipes, and what I’m cooking that night. It’s pretty straightforward, I think.
It’s entirely possible that nobody will be interested in reading this, but that’s ok. If you’re reading this, thanks! Drop me a note and tell me what you like, or would like to hear about. I’m hoping that this will be fun for both of us!

Have you been to/written about Opa! We think it is excellent, particularly when chef/owner Andreas is there cooking and supervising. He’s French trained and finally returned to his Greek roots.
Hi Vera!
I actually haven’t been to Opa!. I’m a big fan of Greek food, but I’m really partial to Athens on 4th. I’ve heard good things about Opa!, though, so it’s definitely on my (ever-growing) list of places to get to. If I just had limitless resources I’d get to them so much faster, but I’ll just have to wait and look forward to them!
Thanks for the recommendation!
Kevin
After reading your new review (odf Opa) I’m guessing you and Vera may be sorry?
Try the new Tucson Cheesecake Factory–I never expected the food to be as good as the desserts… it is.
Hello, Bobby Rich!
Yeah, I think Vera’s going to take issue with my post about Opa. I’m glad she likes it, but I can’t share her enthusiasm for them.
I was at the Cheesecake Factory last night, and I was really surprised at how good it was. In fact, that’s going to be the subject of my next blog post – hopefully coming tonight!
Thanks for the commment!
Kevin
Can you recommend a bakery in Tucson that makes good cakes?
Thanks:)
Ramona
