Back on the air!

January 11, 2010

On the Menu Live PosterAh, the shameless self-promotion.

Last month, I had the pleasure of being invited to do a short interview on On the Menu…Live! by its host Matt Russell (Twitter: @PRceo).  I did.  It was kinda fun, and only a tiny bit scary.  At the end of the  show, Matt asked me if I’d be interested in coming back to co-host a show with him.  Well folks, that day is almost upon us.

The show will air this Thursday, 1/14, from 5-6pm on AM 1330 The Jolt.  There’s some info from Matt below – please tune in if you can!

Even better, come on down to Sir Veza’s Taco Garage and enjoy the show live!

It turns out that this will be a very appropriate show for me to be helping out with.  There’s also going to be a Tweetup and big announcement from Tucson Values Teachers going on there as well.  For those of you who don’t know about my day job, I regularly work with teachers, and have worked with TVT.  This is going to be an interesting (and fun, I hope!) convergence of work and hobby.  And there are going to be some very surprised people who show up for TVT and find me sitting behind a microphone…

Please come if you can, listen if you can’t, and wish me luck if you can’t do either!

Kevin (TFD)

From Matt Russell:

Friends –

On my radio show this Thursday at 5:00 pm, I will broadcast live from Sir Veza’s Taco Garage (4699 E. Speedway).  My celebrity co-host for the hour will be Kevin Hall, otherwise known as Tucson Food Dude, a self-described “average guy who likes to eat and drink.” He’s also a widely read food blogger, and his posts are required reading for local culinary enthusiasts (www.tucsonfooddude.com).

The Tucson Values Teachers Tweetup at Sir Veza’s on Thursday will serve as the backdrop for this special broadcast.  Tucson Values Teachers, an organization dedicated to recruiting, retaining and rewarding local K-12 teachers, will be making a major announcement that will benefit every school teacher in Southern Arizona. We’ll be there to report it live!

We’ll also feature a segment on trends in senior dining with Sodexo Chef Yannick Himber, a culinary artist who takes pride in providing seniors in retirement with restaurant-quality meals following the wide variety of cuisines that they have enjoyed throughout their lives.

Finally, we’ll chat with our friends at Sir Veza’s to learn exactly what a ‘taco garage’ is, and give away a Sir Veza’s gift card to the winner of this week’s trivia question.

“On the Menu…Live” airs every Thursday at 5:00 pm on AM1330, the Jolt.  We also stream live on www.tucsonsjolt.com.

I’ll see you there!
