Happy Hours

This started off as a blog post, but I’m thinking it’ll be a work in progress that should be easy to find.  If you have a favorite Tucson Happy Hour to add, leave me a comment and I’ll put it in the list!

You know what we need? We need a good listing of Tucson Happy Hours in one place. Something that includes the hours and drink & food specials.

What do you think? Will you help me out?

Leave me a comment with your favorite place’s HH deals and I’ll start compiling them in one place. If you’ve know of a place that’s supposed to be good, let me know and I’ll check with them to get the scoop. If we all work on this together we’ll have a pretty good selection in no time!

Kevin, Thanks for telling me about LeeLee Market. I have been there twice now. What a find.. .although my world-wise son said that he felt like he was in a foreign country. I have a way to go to understand what things are, but I have a big interest, and can pick away at it.

I also just brought home a couple of cupcakes from Red Velvet Cupcakes on University 2 wks ago. I got a gluten free cupcake for Chip who said it was the best he had ever had. That’s saying a lot considering he loves Pam’s (a brand) chocolate cake mix.

That’s all I’ve got for now. We are looking forward to celebrating your birthday with you! Gale

I don’t know the exact deals, but El Charro on Oracle (and probably the other ones) have a great deal.

    Also check out Applebee’s.

I’ll make sure to ask about the specials at the El Charro locations one of the two times that I’ll be at Sir Veza’s tomorrow. And you’re completely right that Applebee’s has a really popular happy hour that I know includes half off of their appetizers. I’ll check in with them and get that updated. Let me know if you come across any other good ones!

    Hey Food Dude!

Thanks so much for all your support during the grand opening of Sir Vezas! I noticed this post happy hours around town, and someone’s comment on El Charro, so here’s the deal with our happy hour:
First of all, happy hour is EVERY DAY from 3pm-6pm, yep, that’s Monday thru Sunday.

Our happy hour drinks include house margaritas (voted “Tucson’s Best House Margarita”), house wines (Beringer Stone Cellars Chardonnay and Cabernet) and draft beers (Dos Equis Amber, Dos Equis Lager, Tecate, Negra Modelo and Negra Especial).

Our happy hour includes ALL appetizers, and these are meal-sized appetizers, including:
    *our delicious house-made guacamole
*a tamale sampler trio (Tamale Temptation)
    *our famous mini chimichanga platter
*our wide selection of cheese crisps with plain cheese; grilled chicken; chcken, avocados and Applewood smoked bacon (The Elegante Cheesecrisp) and other mouth-watering ingredients
*Queso fundido (plain and with chorizo)
*Quesadillas (same recipes as the cheesecrisps)
*and one of my absolute favorites: El Patron de Chicharron- a grande platter of 8 bacon-wrapped grilled shrimp, served with frijoles and chorizo and three different dipping sauces…you GOTTA try this one!

So these are a few of our most popular happy hour menu items, but there are quite a few more!

So come visit us Monday-Sunday 3-6pm at our four El Charro Cafe locations: Downtown (Court and Franklin), Oro Valley (Oracle and Magee), Ventana (Kolb and Sunrise) and Mercado at Broadway and Wilmot.

      Hi Maria –

Wow – thanks for all the detailed information on El Charro’s happy hours! The El Patron de Chicharron sounds fantastic (nothing like bacon-wrapped shrimp) – I’ll definitely give it a try next time I’m there. And the good news: that may be sometime this week!

      Thanks again,

Please do stop by, we have some interesting new appetizers on the menu such as our Tuna-Tina which is made with fresh Ahi and mango salsa, and Py-tons which is seasoned Python (really) wrapped and fried in a wonton.

        Thanks again, Cindy

      • September 16, 2010 10:30 am

Seasoned python? If you didn’t have the parenthetical ‘really’ there I would think you were pulling my leg. But I’m game for just about anything, so I may just try some when I swing by!
