Red Velvet to celebrate grand opening at La Encantada with free cupcakes

Tuscon [sic], AZ – Red Velvet Cupcakery is proud to announce the opening of its second location in Tucson, Arizona on Friday, October 15th at La Encantada Mall.  In honor of this grand occasion, Red Velvet is giving away free cupcakes to customers between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.  Offering time-honored favorites in addition to exclusive seasonal specials, the family-owned gourmet cupcake bakery plans to further service patrons in the Tuscon area with its supreme quality confections.

Red Velvet’s menu contains a range of creations to satisfy any cupcake-lover’s craving.  Brother and sister duo Aaron and Canada Gordon, together with Executive Pastry Chef David Guas have developed 11 maximum flavor items, including Devil’s Food, a rich chocolate buttermilk cake with Valrhona bittersweet chocolate ganache frosting garnished with a 24K gold leaf; Summertime, a light and lemony delight with coconut cream cheese frosting; and Southern Belle, the shop’s best-selling and signature red velvet recipe topped with whipped cream cheese frosting.  The cupcakery also features seasonal treats like Maple Bacon, Champagne, Banana Hazelnut, Pistachio Raspberry and Honey Fig.

“What differentiates Red Velvet from other cupcakeries is the quality of our product,” says Aaron.  “We hold our cupcakes to the very highest standards, using only the best available ingredients, from French chocolate and Madagascar vanilla to locally-grown produce and dairy.”

The professionally trained pastry chefs at each location bake the cupcakes from scratch not only each morning, but throughout the day in small batches to ensure the finest, freshest quality.  Every cupcake is infused with the staff’s artistry and affection.

In addition to providing a top-notch product and service to its community, Red Velvet focuses on giving back to the people through several philanthropic initiatives.  The establishment has provided its cupcakes to charitable organizations and events such as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and SAAF, Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation, and in an effort to minimize waste, donates left-overs to area shelters and non-profits.

Red Velvet first opened its doors in Washington D.C.’s Penn Quarter in December 2008 and has since then expanded into the District’s Dupont Circle, downtown Tucson, across from the University of Arizona, and will be opening a fifth store in Reston, Virginia later this month.

Red Velvet Cupcakery La Encantada is located at 2905 E. Skyline Drive, Suite 287, Tucson, AZ 85718. Red Velvet will be open for eat-in or take-out Monday – Thursday and Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. and Friday & Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. and will offer catering and delivery services.
